More about EFT and The Emotional Freedom Technique Manual
A new manual has been published describing a novel therapeutic technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). EFT has a large following worldwide. Google Trends estimates that more than three million people a month search for “EFT therapy” and similar terms, and that the highest-traffic EFT websites attract over 2 million unique visitors each month.
Step by step instructions for applying EFT are provided in “The EFT Manual,” is new and completely revised. Over a million copies of earlier versions of “The EFT Manual” are in circulation. First published in an online version in 1995, “The EFT Manual” has been used in over 20 scientific studies published in peer-reviewed journals. They show that the method significantly reduces or eliminates the symptoms of depression, anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and pain. EFT combines elements of cognitive and behavioral therapies with acupressure.
The new edition of the EFT Manual is authored by Dawson Church Ph.D., Executive Director of the National Institute for Integrative Healthcare, who has conducted many clinical trials of EFT. Says Church, “This comprehensive yet user-friendly version of the manual makes EFT understandable to the many medical professionals who are using it in primary care settings, as well as the millions of people who use it as a self-help practice.”
The book covers 48 distinct techniques used in Clinical EFT, the method used in research. EFT has been used successfully to remediate PTSD in veterans and other traumatized groups, and the new edition includes specialized “gentle” techniques for working with psychological trauma as well as physical diseases.
